How your session works

How do I book a baby photoshoot?

On request of booking a session with me a non refundable deposit of £30 is asked for at the time of booking. The rest of your session fee can be paid on the day at my home studio in Southampton. Once I have received your deposit, only then is your booking secure and your due date be written in the diary. Terms and Conditions must be read and agreed to before booking a session with me.

Once you have notified me you have had your baby I will arrange a firm date and time with you. Sessions take place weekday mornings from 9:30am so if you have siblings that would like to be included in the shoot, please bare in mind they may need a morning off school. Usually we only need them for around an hour or so at the start. I will send you an PDF which includes all the information you will need to get the most out of your experience. Please let me know if you have any particular preferences on any props or positions as I plan your shoot beforehand and may not use certain ones you have seen on the websites.

What happens on the day?

On the session day we will start with a feed so baby is hopefully very sleepy.  Sessions can last up to 4 hours as we allow plenty of time for multiple feeds and cuddles to keep your baby happy and content. Sometimes younger siblings can get a little bored/restless so I do have a TV with children's programs they can watch, also there is a park close by or alternatively you arrange for someone to collect them once we have finished doing the sibling shots. In a typical session I will use 2-3 different props e.g. baskets/barrels and then move onto blanket poses using a wide variety of hairbands and hats. A sneak peek will go on Facebook if you have 'liked' the page a few days after the session.

After your session

Around 4-6 weeks after your shoot date I will invite you back for your ordering/viewing session. On average I will provide a gallery from 20-25 images. This is when you see your beautiful images and place your order, with full payment taken on the day. You are more than welcome to bring along any family members who might like to see the images too but please keep a limit to a maximum of 4 adults in total. Ordering sessions can take up an hour or more so it would be advisable again to leave young children with someone. You will then be notified that your order is ready for collection approx. 2 weeks after this date. If you would prefer for your products to be sent a small fee will be incurred.

We run very limited sessions in our home studio only and do not offer location/at home photography sessions. Sessions and viewings are by appointment only. The Home studio is based in Totton, Southampton. We are a five minute drive from Ashurst Birth Centre in The New Forest. We provide Maternity photography, newborn photography, baby photography and Cake smash photography.
